"My experience at Mint Dentistry was WAY more than what I expected. I thought it was going to be a normal COLD emotionless dentist visit but NO this place is totally opposite. Its inviting, it doesn't even feel like your at a dentist when you walk in. The front desk personnel Ms. Samari and Ms. Jenah were full of smiles and performed customer service to the highest level. The dentist assistance Ms. Neon that was assigned to me, made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. With the massage chair while she took x-rays along with the option to watch Netflix. She's a diligent worker and enjoys what she does.My dental cleaning was done by someone who took perfectionism very serious. She kept x-raying her work to make sure she didn't miss a spot. That was impressive and showed she really cared. The Dentist Dr. Hunt was the man. As soon as he sat down and greeted me I knew I came to the right place. And after he completed my root canal and crown it was confirmed that I came to the right place. My tooth looks good.Well Done Mint Dentistry. Those radio commercials do actually live up to the hype. Well Done!"- G.O. / Google / Aug 30, 2019

Laughing gas or nitrous oxide is one of the most common sedation techniques available. It can be used safely on both adults and children. Before nitrous oxide gas is used, our team will go through your medical history, current medications, and concerns to ensure nitrous oxide is a good choice for you. N2O sedation can be used for most minimally invasive procedures and is often combined with local anesthesia to maximize comfort. Nitrous oxide sedation may also be used for standard dental examinations or cleanings if you have dental anxieties or fears that make these procedures stressful for you. Nitrous oxide gas may not be suitable if you have difficulty breathing through your nose, extreme phobias, have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or certain other conditions.
What to Expect
After settling into one of our luxurious treatment chairs, you will be offered a pair of MINT sunglasses and Beats headphones so that you can relax in style during your treatment. Before your procedure begins, the nitrous oxide gas will be administered through a nasal hood. As you gently inhale the gas, it will quickly start relaxing you. A member of the MINT dentistry team will monitor your vital signs and response to the gas, adjusting the volume as needed throughout the procedure, so you remain comfortable. You may notice tingling in your arms and legs, as well as a feeling of vibration, warmth, euphoria, or well-being as the gas takes effect. Nitrous oxide is normally used along with a local anesthesia such as lidocaine to numb your mouth in the areas being treated. Once the procedure is complete, the gas will be turned off and the nitrous oxide quickly leaves your system so you feel normal within a few minutes.
After your procedure, you should have a quick recovery as the gas leaves your body within 3 – 5 minutes. You should be able to drive and resume your normal activities when you leave our office. Side effects are uncommon, but you may experience temporary headaches, chills, sweating, nausea, vomiting, or fatigue. Please contact MINT dentistry if you have any concerns or side effects that last longer than a few days. To minimize the risk of nausea and vomiting, our team suggests you eat a light meal before your procedure and wait at least three hours after you leave before eating a large meal.
