About Dental Implants
Dental implants are an effective and long-term solution for replacing a missing tooth or teeth for a attractive smile. MINT dentistry is excited to offer custom-made dental implants and restorations for our patients in McKinney, TX to help them achieve a sexy smile that functions and feels like natural teeth. A dental implant is a metal post that is surgically placed in your gums and jawbone (by one of our board-certified oral surgeons) to replace the natural tooth root. This post(s) can then be attached to a crown, bridge, or dentures for a restoration that looks natural and lasts a long time. If you have to replace a missing tooth or teeth, schedule a consultation at MINT dentistry in McKinney, TX. During this appointment at our state-of-the-art dental facility, you will get to know more about MINT dentistry’s mission to help our patients achieve their goals while maintaining ideal oral health.
All-On-4® Dental Implants
A leader in implant dentistry, Nobel Biocare® makes All-on-4®, a comprehensive way to secure dentures for a full-arch restoration. This process works by inserting the screws (dental implants) into strategic areas on each arch. Compared to other implant dentures, All-on-4® uses fewer posts for a secure fit. The MINT dentistry team recommends All-on-4® implants for patients who are looking for a fully restored smile without the hassle or the dietary restrictions that come with removable dentures. Many MINT patients have reaped the benefits of the groundbreaking All-on-4® procedure, enjoying high-quality results. If you're interested in finding out more about All-on-4® implants and custom dentures, we invite you to schedule an appointment.

Best Candidates for Dental Implants
Your dental team may use an implant-supported crown, bridge, or dentures to replace a missing tooth or teeth. You may be an ideal candidate for dental implants if you currently have a traditional dental restoration but are unhappy with the way it looks or feels. During your dental implant consultation at MINT dentistry, our skilled team will examine your gums and jawbone to determine if a dental implant will help you achieve your goal smile. You may not be a candidate for dental implants if you suffer from gum disease, use tobacco, or are currently pregnant.
What to Expect
At your initial implant dentistry consultation, our team will make sure you do not need gum or bone grafts. If it is determined that you do, those will be performed beforehand. Once your mouth is ready for implants, we will schedule your first appointment to begin the process. Prior to your appointment, a member of our team will help you to fully relax in one of our massaging treatment chairs, where you will be given a pair of MINT sunglasses and Beats headphones. Next, your anesthesia or sedation will be administered. Then, one of our board-certified oral surgeons will make an incision(s) in your gums and place the titanium post(s) into your jawbone. This process will be repeated if more than one implant is needed. The gums will then be closed around the implant, leaving the post visible above the gumline. Over the next few months, the implant(s) will integrate with the bone and gum. During this time, a temporary restoration will be used to protect the post(s). Once your mouth has healed, our team will attach your custom restoration to the post(s), revealing a gorgeous new smile.
Treatment Aftercare
Due to the nature of the surgery, you should expect a bit of swelling in your gums and face along with possible discomfort, bruising, and bleeding. A certain degree of these symptoms is completely normal, but severe or prolonged symptoms should be reported to our office. Our team may prescribe pain medications and antibiotics along with detailed aftercare instructions, including what activities to avoid, to help you recover smoothly. Once your implant(s) has healed and your custom restoration has been attached, you should follow a good home oral care routine, including daily brushing and flossing. Follow-up appointments to check your progress will be scheduled. MINT dentistry highly recommends you continue scheduling bi-annual cleanings and annual exams so that we can help you keep your restorations gorgeous for a lifetime.
The MINT Commitment
Depending on your dental insurance and specific coverage, some of the cost of your dental implant and restoration may be covered. Our office will contact your insurance to determine your specific benefits and calculate your costs. During your consultation with the MINT dentistry team, we can discuss the payment methods accepted by our office, including medical financing. MINT dentistry is committed to helping our patients get a luminous smile. If you do not have dental insurance, ask a team member about the MINT Discount Plan, which helps you fit restorative treatments like dental implants into your budget.
